ausbil's all-equities strategy for cashing in on the infrastructure megatrend
Published at : October 17, 2021
There is insatiable demand for world-class ‘essential’ infrastructure assets by private investors. On current valuations, these investors are taking advantage of a compelling valuation arbitrage that presently exists between public and private markets. However, Tim Humphreys from ausbil Investment Management says public markets are undervaluing infrastructure assets and this is making them one of the hottest assets in town. The only problem? Stocks like Sydney Airport (SYD), Spark Infrastructure (SKI) and Ausnet (AST) may have run so hard that the trend is at its peak. Tim tells us that the criteria to count as "essential" and therefore worthy of a buy is getting tighter. Only four names are left on the ASX according to the team. Listen in for those names to write down and keep a beady eye on. It's a different story overseas though. Globally, the listed infrastructure sector is set to grow larger as new government owned assets hit the boards. So which one does Tim like? Listen in and find out.
